Who is behind this site
The traveller count is Gábor's own figure. Every rating and review count on this site is the operator's published listing data on GetYourGuide or Viator, not ours.
What this site does
Budapest Food Tours is an independent comparison guide. We look at the city's best-reviewed food experiences, from market walks to wine tastings, cooking classes and a dinner cruise, and lay out how they differ so you can pick the right one. The bookable experiences are run by their operators: Carpe Diem Tours, Foodapest, Taste Hungary and Legenda Cruises. When you click through, you land on the operator's official GetYourGuide or Viator listing, and if you book we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That is the whole business model, stated plainly, with the full note on the affiliate disclosure page.
Gábor guides visitors around Budapest, but he does not operate or lead the bookable tours featured here, and this site never pretends otherwise. His role is local knowledge and honest reporting: he knows the market halls, the dishes and the neighbourhoods firsthand, so he can vet a listing the way a working guide would, without claiming a seat he did not sit in.
How the facts get checked
Every figure here traces to a real source. Inclusions, stops, tasting counts, menus, meeting points, durations and cancellation terms all come from the operators' official GetYourGuide and Viator listings, checked against them as of each page's publish date. Ratings and review counts are always the listing's own published numbers and are attributed as such. Where a value moves, above all price, we send you to the live listing instead of freezing a number that will go stale.
Food and city facts work the same way. Opening hours, venue details and local rules come from official and primary sources, and where we could not verify something we say so instead of guessing. You can see that approach across the guides, from the Great Market Hall to tipping and the service charge.
What we never do
No invented reviews, ever. No first-person claims about a paid tour Gábor has not taken; where he has not done the thing, the page says what the listing and its reviewers say, attributed. And no printed prices, because a price copied onto a static page is stale within a season. The listing shows the live price for your date and group, and that is where we point you.
