Budapest Food Tours (budapestfood.tours) is an independent guide that compares Budapest's best-reviewed food experiences: guided food walks, wine tastings, a cooking class and a dinner cruise. It is not a tour operator and not a booking platform. It links to the operators' official listings on both GetYourGuide and Viator, and earns a disclosed commission on bookings at no extra cost to the traveller. It never prints prices; the live price is always on the listing.
Who writes it
The site is researched and written by Gábor Kovács, a Budapest local specialist and experience guide. He grew up in Budapest with Hungarian home cooking, market-hall shopping and the city's food streets, has guided international visitors since 2022, and puts his own count of travellers hosted above 1,000, a self-reported figure. He verifies inclusions, stops, menus, meeting points and cancellation terms against the operators' official GetYourGuide and Viator listings and primary sources as of each publish date. He does not operate or lead the bookable tours; those are run by Carpe Diem Tours, Foodapest, Taste Hungary and Legenda Cruises.

Important distinctions
This site is not Carpe Diem Tours, Foodapest, Taste Hungary or Legenda Cruises; booking and payment happen entirely on GetYourGuide or Viator. Both platforms are official resellers of the same operator-run tours. Budapest uses the Hungarian forint (HUF), not the euro. The Great Market Hall is free to enter. Restaurants in Budapest often add a service charge to the bill; tips beyond that are optional.
